DEVELOPMENT & COPRODUCTION
Building Stories in the Canary Islands
The Canary Islands have become a vibrant hub for film and television production, attracting projects worldwide thanks to their unique landscapes, year-round climate, and up to 50% tax rebates.
At the heart of any successful project is the collaboration between the Executive Producer (EP) and the Production Service Manager (PSM)—a partnership that is especially crucial when developing in-house movies and series.
Executive Producer - Creative & Financial Vision
The Executive Producer oversees the creative and financial direction of a project, from concept development to final distribution. In the Canary Islands, the EP works closely with writers, directors, and showrunners to refine scripts, secure funding, and attract international talent.
They also maximize the advantages of the local tax incentive scheme, negotiate with investors, and integrate the region’s cultural and environmental identity into stories to appeal to global audiences.
A strong EP blends creativity with business strategy, builds long-term partnerships with local production houses and global studios, and ensures that every project achieves both creative excellence and financial success.
Production Service Manager - Turning Vision into Reality
The Production Service Manager is responsible for transforming the EP’s vision into seamless execution. In the Canary Islands, the PSM manages logistics, location scouting, permits, accommodation, crew coordination, and compliance with local regulations.
With deep knowledge of local talent, suppliers, and filming conditions, the PSM anticipates challenges and provides solutions for projects requiring underwater filming, aerial shooting, or volcanic locations. For international productions, the PSM acts as the key bridge between global teams and local support.
A Strategic Synergy
The collaboration between the EP and PSM ensures that in-house productions in the Canary Islands are both creatively compelling and efficiently managed.
Together, they deliver world-class film and TV projects that leverage the islands’ cinematic landscapes and tax advantages, positioning the Canary Islands as a leading coproduction destination and driving the growth of a sustainable audiovisual industry.
